Sri Vidyasankara Temple, Sringeri

Sri Vidyasankara Temple was constructed in 1346 AD and is situated on the banks of River Tunga.
Sri Vidyashankara Mandir is a marvel of Vedic architecture.
12 pillars surrounds the mandapa with figures of the 12 signs of the zodiac.
They were built in such a way, that the ray of the sun falls on each pillar in the chronological order of the 12 months of the calendar !
