Dharma is not an ideology or ‘ism’. All ideologies are the product of the mind whereas Dharma is rooted in cosmic consciousness. Dharma views the world and life as a dynamic balance of opposites. Thus it cautions against extremes. On the contrary, ideologies advocate the triumph of one extreme over the other. Therefore, dharma is non-controversial while ideologies always create disharmony, conflict and violence. This is the reason that Dharma never allowed Ideas to became Ideologies in India.
